Serving Gloucester and it’s neighbors since 1887, we at BankGloucester pride ourselves on giving back to the community. We strive for excellence in our duties as a financial institution, and in its support of local nonprofit organizations and community causes.
In 2008, as part of BankGloucester‘s commitment to the Cape Ann community, we announced the beginning of our annual “Banking for the Community” event. The event, which runs each year throughout the month of September, invites residents of Cape Ann, Ipswich and surrounding communities to vote for their favorite local businesses and organizations. At the end of the month, votes are tallied and prizes are awarded based on number of votes received.
We’re excited to announce this year’s event in which $30,000 will be distributed among 19 local organizations on Cape Ann based on the number of votes each organization receives. We ask the community to vote for their favorites, and encourage all of Cape Ann to participate.
Last year, we gave away $25,000 to 21 businesses and organizations from all over Cape Ann. This year, the stakes are even higher as we’ve upped our contribution to $30,000, and it’s up to you to decide where it goes!
Awards will be distributed as follows:
1st Place – $5,000 prize
2nd Place – $4,000 Prize
3rd Place – $3,000 Prize
4th & 5th Place – $2,000 Prize Each
6th – 19th Place – $1,000 Prize Each
Voting begins on September 1st, and runs through September 30th. Ballots may be cast online here, or in any of our branch locations. Votes must be received by September 30th @ 6 PM to be counted.
