Phone Number Spoofing Scam

We have been made aware of fraudulent phone calls and text messages that appear to come from BankGloucester, often spoofing our main phone number, (978) 283-8200. Banks nationwide are also being affected.

In recent incidents, callers claiming to be a BankGloucester employee contacted customers regarding supposed fraud, wires, ACH, debit card transactions, or other transactions and requested access to their account and/or account information. This call was not from BankGloucester.

BankGloucester will never ask you for sensitive personal information or log in credentials, or ask you to install software or grant access to your computer or device. If you believe you have shared personal or account information with a suspicious caller, please contact BankGloucester immediately at 978-283-8200.

Stay alert! Please remember:
• Never click on links, provide account numbers, online banking credentials, passwords, PINs, or security codes to an unsolicited caller.
• If you receive a suspicious call that appears to be from BankGloucester, hang up and call us directly at (978) 283-8200 to verify the request.
• Be cautious, even if the caller ID displays a legitimate phone number. Scammers can “spoof” phone numbers to make calls appear authentic.
