Do I need to let BankGloucester know I am traveling?
Yes, whether you are traveling out of the state, or country you should call or come in to notify us the dates you will be traveling so we can open your card to be used in that location.
How much can I spend a day or withdraw from at an ATM?
Daily purchasing limits on ALL debit cards is $1,000 and daily ATM withdrawal limits are $500. We can put these limits up during banking hours but do have to put them back down at the end of our business day.
Can I dispute a transaction?
Yes. If the transaction is something, you did not authorize, participate or benefit it please notify us immediately so we can close down your card and file a dispute.

What do I need to open an account?
In order to open up a consumer account we require a valid Government issued Photo ID (license, State ID card, Passport, Military ID). It is a good idea to bring in a social security card and proof of address in case we need it for auditing purposes, but this is not always required. For minors a social security card is always required to open an account.
– For Business accounts along with the documentation needed for a consumer account we require a business certificate, proof of tax ID number, and meeting minutes (if applicable)
– For Trust accounts, along with the documentation required for a consumer account we also require the original trust document or a true copy. (We only accept trusts done by a Lawyer
– For Tenant Landlord Accounts we require all the documentation required for a consumer account
for both the tenant and the landlord. We also require the tenant signs a W-9 form
– For Clubs, Associations, non-profits and other organizations, along with the documents required for a consumer account, we require proof of tax ID number. If it is a nonprofit, we also require the 501C3 form indicating that you are tax exempt. In addition, we require meeting minutes from the board of the organizatio
– For Representative Payee accounts, along with documentation required for a consumer account for both the person, you are the Rep. Payee of and yourself, we require the paper work from the courts that appoint you the Representative Payee
– For an Estate Account along with the documentation required for a consumer account we require paperwork appointing you the Executor/Executrix of the Estate and proof of tax ID number.

Can I open an account if I am not a MA resident?
Yes, as long as you have social security number and federally issued ID you can.
Do you offer credit cards?
We do not offer credit cards. We have debit cards, which directly debit from your checking account and our lending department offers Lines Of Credit.
Does BankGloucester support Apple Pay, Venmo, Google Pay, and Paypal?
Yes, we support all of the payment methods listed!
How do I add an authorized user to my account?
Depending on the situation there’s a few options that will allow someone else access to your account. You can add a joint owner to your account by coming in with them and signing paperwork. This would mean it is now just as much their account as it is yours and they would have access to everything you do.
Another option would be if you have a Power of Attorney. If this were the case, we would require the original Power Of Attorney Documents or a True Copy. This would allow them to act on your behalf. (We only accept POA paperwork done by a lawyer).
Another option is creating a sub user on online banking. You can do this on your own and will be able to choose what you want the sub user to have access to see and do.
How can I change my address, phone #, email etc?
In order to change and address we do require some type of authorization that we keep on file. You can give us authorization by coming in and filling out an address change form or going on online banking under secure forms and filling out the address change through there.
For phone numbers and emails, we are able to change them over the phone or in person.
For a name change, we require an up to date Photo ID and social security card with the correct name on it.
What you need to complete an outgoing wire?
In order to complete an outgoing wire we must have ALL of the following:
The receiving Banks’ name and physical address, Routing number or Swift Code, The account number that it is going to, and the beneficiary’s Name and Physical Address.
How long does it take to see my e- deposit available?
If you make an electronic check deposit before 3pm on a business day, it will be available to you between 8-8:30 pm the same day. If you make electronic check deposit after 3pm or on the weekend, it will be available to you between 8-8:30pm the next business day.
Who can be on an account with a minor?
The only persons authorized to be on an account with a minor are parents or legal guardians, and grandparents. If a grandparent is going to be on the account alone with a minor then we require the parent to come in and sign a W-9 form, which is giving consent for your minor to be on an account without them.
Does BankGloucester have safe deposit boxes? What are the sizes and pricing?
Yes, our Gloucester and Ipswich branches have safe deposit boxes available for lease. Sizes and pricing are as follows:

Why do my mortgage payments change each year?
There are a number of factors that can effect a mortgage payment change each year such as, If you agreed to an Adjustable Rate Mortgage loan, your interest rates can fluctuate depending on your loan terms, You can contact the loan department to discuss your current loan agreement at any time. If your Real Estate taxes have changed due to an increase in property value, additional liens such as water, sewer or betterments can be added to your tax bill which will increase your escrow payments. BankGloucester is not responsible for payment to your city or town for utilities and you should pay them directly. Your escrow payments are adjusted each year.
If I am late on my mortgage payment, am I reported to the credit bureaus?
Your loan payments are due on the date reflected on your bill. You will have 15 days from your due date to pay without incurring a late fee. Even if you are assessed a late fee, your loan will not be reported to the credit bureaus until your loan is 30 days past due.
