Linda Lea Bertrand paints the changing seasons of New England in oil, with realism and an impressionistic color sense. Painting in plein air, she works efficiently to capture the essence of the scene before there is a significant light change.
Initially self-taught, she sought to improve her perception and skill by working with noted artists Daniel Greene, Paul George, and David Curtis. She is a member of the North Shore Arts Association as well as Rockport, Marblehead, and LPAPA. She exhibits her work at private galleries, local, and national art associations. She has taught painting in several venues. Her paintings have been in corporate collections, at the Massachusetts State House, and the Museum of Fine Art, Boston.
“It is my hope to impart the same feelings of peace and tranquility in you that I feel as I create my work, to provide you a moment of peace from the stresses of your busy life, and help remind you of the things that make life worth living.”
Linda Lea Bertrand was educated as a Nurse Practitioner. She started painting to alleviate the stress of working with the critically ill. Now Linda Lea paints full-time. She lives in Marblehead, MA, which features prominently in her work.
